Weekly Wage Loss Benefits in Mound, Minnesota

Workers' Compensation Wage Benefits

Workers' compensation insurance provides injured workers with wage benefits if their ability to work has been impaired. If you are a Minnesota worker who has suffered a workplace injury or illness, you may receive weekly wage loss benefits, including:

  • Temporary total disability (TTD): If you are unable to return to work after your injury, you have a right to receive TTD benefits equal to two-thirds of your gross weekly wage. Minimum and maximum TTD benefit restrictions do exist. Typically, you may only obtain TTD benefits for up to 130 weeks. Some exceptions exist.
  • Temporary partial disability (TPD): If you must work at a lesser-paying job or work fewer hours after your injury, you may obtain TPD benefits. The amount of TPD benefits you obtain is equal to two-thirds of the difference between your pre-injury gross weekly wages and your post-injury wages. Minimum and maximum benefit restrictions do exist. Typically, you may obtain benefits for no longer than 225 weeks. Some exceptions exist.

In addition to weekly wage loss benefits for people with a temporary partial disability or temporary total disability, Minnesota law provides that injured workers are eligible for permanent disability benefits. Vocational training benefits are another form of benefit that may be available to you as an injured worker.
